Message I know the 240Z's had rust problems with thier thin guage steel floorpans and such. I would think that the modern paint and coating technology on even a car made in 1989 would pretty much elimate most rust problems. My Z was previously owned in Utah and Florida...the former has salty roads in the winter and the latter has salty air. I've never been able to find any rust. The salty roads do wreak havoc on the clear coat however.

And in any case, if you replace the steel hatch with 'glass or CF, cool, but you still have the rest of the panels, plus the whole steel chassis and suspenion bits.
